The Otago Rugby Football Union (ORFU) is the rugby union provincial association for the Otago region on the South Island of New Zealand . The association and jersey colors are blue and yellow. The association's national championship ITM Cup team plays its home games at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin .
Otago has won the New Zealand Championship (the former National Provincial Championship ) twice. In the years 1935, 1938, 1947-1950 and 1957, the team was in possession of the Ranfurly Shield .
Otago players make up most of the Highlanders team , which plays in the international Super Rugby championship . For this reason, the home games of the Highlanders are also played in Dunedin.
