Jeffrey William Wilson MNZM (born October 24, 1973 in Invercargill ) is a former New Zealand athlete who was active in rugby union and cricket for his home country and is therefore a so-called "Double All Black". He is married to the New Zealand national netball team captain Adine Wilson.
Rugby union career
Wilson made his debut for New Zealand's national rugby union team in 1993 when they met Scotland . He put in three attempts . A week later he scored nine more points from three penalties against England .
Wilson has played 60 internationals for the All Blacks and made 44 attempts. Until 2002 he held the New Zealand record for most attempts achieved before Christian Cullen and later Doug Howlett overtook him in this statistic. He took part in two world championships , 1995 and 1999 , and was one of the most successful players in each case.
Wilson played in the Super 12 for the Highlanders and in the National Provincial Championship for Otago and Southland . At the end of the Super 12 season in 2000, he announced his retirement, but returned in the following season and played another six games before he finally declared his career ended in 2002 at 28. In 2003 he was named a "Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit" for his services to rugby.

Wilson began with the sport of cricket as a teenager and played in national cricket for Otago . He made his international debut in the 1992/93 season against Australia . He played four One-Day Internationals (ODI) in the series . With the introduction of the rugby union tournament Super 12, he decided to no longer actively play for New Zealand cricket, as the schedules of both sports now overlapped.
With the end of his rugby career, he returned to cricket. He celebrated his comeback for Otago on January 12, 2005 and a few weeks later for the New Zealand national team. In March of that year he played his last ODI against Australia as well as his only Twenty20 International . At the end of the 2005 season he had to end his cricket career due to injuries.
