Olmedo is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4185 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sassari in Sardinia . The municipality is located about 17 kilometers southwest of Sassari.

Economy and Transport

An aluminum smelter is located in Olmedo. In the future, the Strada Statale 291 della Nurra will run through the municipality as a bypass road from Sassari to Alghero-Fertilia . Olmedo train station is on the narrow-gauge railway from Sassari to Alghero , which is regularly served by FdS trains.
