Berchidda (in the Gallurese dialect Bilchidda ) is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2694 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Sassari in Sardinia . The municipality is located about 31.5 kilometers southwest of Olbia and about 14 kilometers south-southeast of Tempio Pausania .

Sights and culture

The Dolmen di Monte Acuto is located in a clearing on a high plateau at the foot of Monte Acuto, west of Berchidda.

The jazz festival Time in Jazz has been held annually in Berchidda since 1988 . It is organized by the jazz trumpeter Paolo Fresu, who was born in Berchidda .

traffic

The Strada Statale 597 di Logudoro leads through the municipality from Codrongianos to Olbia (also E 840 ). Berchidda train station is on the Cagliari – Golfo Aranci Marittima railway line .
