Attractions

The place dominated by the castle Castelsardo is located on a short, rocky cape and has received its typical character thanks to the well-preserved wall ring and the small staircases. The heavily renovated Cathedral of Sant'Antonio abate still has parts of its original structure from the 16th century and has important wooden altars and panels, some of which are attributed to the master of Castelsardo , who has not yet been identified .

A short distance outside the city is the Domus de Janas perforated, so-called elephant rock because of its shape . Not far from Castelsardo, in the neighboring municipality of Tergu , is the Romanesque church in the Pisan-Provencal style Nostra Signora di Tergu (12th century), whose facade consists of small arches and white pillars decorated with inlay.
