The Sassari – Sorso railway is a narrow-gauge branch line in Sardinia operated by the Ferrovie della Sardegna (FdS) .

history

In 1927, the Società anonima Ferrovie Settentrionali Sarde (SFSS) acquired the concession to build a railway line from Sassari to Sorso and was able to open it on May 12, 1930. Already in 1933 the Strade Ferrate Sarde (SFS) took over the railway traffic. After the SFS had been placed under state administration in 1971, the FdS took over Sardinia's narrow-gauge railroad traffic in 1989.

Today diesel multiple units are mainly used. It is planned to include this route in Sassari's city traffic .
