Porto Torres Marittima (freight yard)

The Ozieri-Chilivani – Porto Torres Marittima railway is a single-track line on the Italian island of Sardinia . The line, built in standard gauge, was opened piece by piece; it has been continuously passable since the end of 1874. The track is owned by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), a 100% subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato .

The line connects the coastal town of Porto Torres and its port with the Ozieri train station , where there are connections to the Cagliari – Golfo Aranci Marittima railway line . The most important stopover on the route is the 130,000-inhabitant city of Sassari , which is also the center of a narrow-gauge passenger network operated by the Ferrovie della Sardegna .

The line is not electrified and is therefore used by diesel trains operated by the Italian state railway Ferrovie dello Stato (FS).
