Adauto Puñales

Adauto Álvaro Puñales Lascano (born January 31, 1935 in Lascano , Rocha , † September 23, 2009 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Puñales, father of the Uruguayan politician Yeanneth Puñales , was an auctioneer and belonged to the Partido Colorado .

In 1984 he was elected Intendente for the first time in the Rocha Department and held this office from 1985 to 1990 as a representative of Unión Colorada y Batllista . In 1989 he stood for re-election, but failed because of the Partido Nacional belonging Irineu Riet Correa . Five years later, however, he made a renewed attempt for a second term and was this time successful for the Foro Batllista , so that between 1995 and 2000 he was again Intendente of this department.
