Szczecin Football Association
The Stettiner Fußball-Vereinigung (SFV) was a local football association in the Pomeranian city of Szczecin .
Foundation and development
The founding date of the SFV is unknown because it was not mentioned in contemporary sports newspapers and the reporting from the province was generally very poor (probably in early 1904, since the first championship, as far as can be seen, was held as a single round). Four clubs with five teams took part in the point games. Stettiner FC Titania with its first and second team, Sport Stettin, FC Saxonia 1903 Stettin and Comet Stettin . The champions were probably the FC Titania with its first team, since in the only known table only the game against its own reserve team was still outstanding. The second teams often refrained from playing the point game against the first team.
Since the conditions in Szczecin were bad from the beginning and were accompanied by endless internal quarrels, the development of the local associations is very difficult to understand. In the spring of 1905, the Stettiner Football Association merged with the Association of Stettiner Ball Game Clubs (VSBV) under the name of the Pomeranian Football Association. When exactly this merger took place is unknown. At the end of May 1905, FC Titania was designated as the Szczecin champions, a few weeks later as the champions of Pomerania. The Pomeranian Football Association was later called the Association of Pomeranian Ball Game Clubs . Titania and Saxonia from the SFV belonged to him as well as former VSBV clubs.
