Steve Hewitt (2011)

Steven James Hewitt (born March 22, 1971 in Northwich , Cheshire ) is a British drummer . He gained fame as a member of the band Placebo , of which he was a member from 1996 to October 2007.

Life

Hewitt grew up in the near Manchester parish of Northwich and attended Weaverham High School in the neighboring parish of Weaverham . At the age of 17 he became the drummer in the band Breed , with whom he went on tour in Germany. In the course of his career he was also a member of various bands such as Electric Crayons , K-Klass , The Mystic Deckchairs and The Boo Radleys . In 1996 he switched to Placebo and was a member of the band for eleven years until he left on October 1, 2007 for personal and musical reasons.

His new band is called Love Amongst Ruin , they released their first album in 2010. Between 2012 and 2013 he also played drums in the band Six by Seven .

Hewitt plays his drums left-handed.
