Steve Ince
Steve Ince is a British computer game developer who has made a name for himself in the industry primarily as a writer. For the British development studio Revolution Software , he was instrumental in creating the adventure series Baphomets Fluch .
Life
Ince studied astronomy and astrophysics at Newcastle University and graduated in 1979. He started working for the British developer Revolution Software in 1993 and worked as a graphic designer on the development of the adventure Beneath a Steel Sky . 1996 followed Baphomets Fluch (original title: Broken Sword ), the biggest hit of Ince and Revolution to this day, which he accompanied as a producer. He played the same role in the 1997 sequel Baphomets Fluch 2 .
Ince also acted as a writer and designer for the first time in the action adventure In Cold Blood , which appeared in 2000. His collaboration on the adventure The Road to El Dorado , which also came onto the market in 2000, was similar . The long-awaited Baphomet's curse followed in 2003 : The sleeping dragon , for which Ince once again contributed story and dialogues. Despite good sales of the game, Revolution Software had to lay off a large part of its employees in the following year, which is why Ince founded his own development studio Juniper Games .
Juniper Games' first three projects were the arcade adventure Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso , the role-playing adventure Mekapods and the classic adventure Juniper Crescent: The Sapphire Claw . All developments were based on web comics that Ince himself drew. In addition, he continued to work as a freelance writer and worked on a book on storywriting for games.
In 2007 he worked with the French team Wizarbox on the adventure So Blonde , which was published in Germany by dtp . It was continued in 2010 with So Blonde - Back to the Island . He also wrote a small part of the script for the Polish computer role-playing game The Witcher and its successor The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings .
In 2011 Steve Ince worked again with Wizarbox on the So-Blonde - Prequel Captain Morgane and the Golden Turtle , which was published in 2012 through the publisher Reef Entertainment Ltd. appeared. In this case, too, the German version was published by dtp .
