Steve McCaffery

Steve McCaffery (born January 24, 1947 in Sheffield ) is a British - Canadian representative of phonetic poetry .

Steve McCaffery studied English and Philosophy at the University of Hull up to a Bachelor's degree . In 1968 he moved to Toronto, Canada and graduated from York University with a Masters and from the University at Buffalo with a Ph.D. from.

In 1970 he founded the group of poets "The Four Horsemen" with Paul Dutton , Rafael Barreto-Rivera and bpNichol .

Steve McCaffery is a professor at the University at Buffalo .

In 1987 he participated in documenta 8 in Kassel.
