Stive Vermaut

Stive Vermaut (born October 22, 1975 in Ostend , Belgium , † June 28, 2004 in Roulers , Belgium) was a Belgian cyclist .

Stive Vermaut by US Postal Service , Lotto-Adecco and Palmans-Collstrop ended his professional cycling career at the age of 26 when he suffered a heart attack on a short tour in Italy . He had already suffered from cardiac arrhythmias several times before .

On June 13, 2004, Vermaut suffered another heart attack while on a private bike ride. On June 28, he died of a cerebral haemorrhage in a hospital in Roulers, Belgium .
