Steven W. Mosher
Steven Westley Mosher (born May 9, 1948 ) is an American social scientist, life rights activist and author with expertise in demographics and Chinese population control policy. He is President of the Population Research Institute (PRI) in Front Royal , Virginia (USA), a human rights advocate in the People's Republic of China , and has helped expose excesses in China's one-child policy and other human rights abuses in population control programs around the world.
The author is a founding member of the Committee on the Present Danger: China . In the early 1990s, he served as the director of the Asian Study Center at the Claremont Institute in California and a member of the special US Broadcasting Commission responsible for China.
Private
Mosher, who converted to Roman Catholicism, is married to his wife Vera and has nine children. His family lives in Virginia. In 1983 he announced that he had married Hwang Hui Wa, an assistant professor of English and Chinese at Fu Hsing Technical College in Taiwan, after his previous marriage to Maggie So, a Hong Kong Chinese, divorced in 1981.
