Lists on the subject |
The Steyr SSG M1 is a multi-loader sniper rifle from the Steyr Mannlicher company . The weapon is available in the calibers 7.62 × 51 mm NATO ( .308 Winchester ) and .338 Lapua Magnum .
A prototype of this sniper rifle was first exhibited in 2016 at an NRA exhibition. At that time it was still called the Steyr SSG 08 M1 and was presented as a further development of the Steyr SSG 08 .
construction
The Steyr M1 has an aluminum shaft that can be adapted to the shooter and can be folded up for transport, reducing the total length of the weapon by 200 mm for each version. The total length is determined purely by the barrel length used and is 898 mm (508 mm barrel length), 1025 mm (635 mm barrel length) or 1080 mm (690 mm barrel length) with the collapsed barrel. On the underside, the shaft ends with a ground spur , which can be folded out to stabilize the weapon.
There is a Picatinny rail on the top and bottom for attaching equipment , and the KeyMod system on the right and left .
The weapon was designed so that each of the barrel variants available for this weapon can be quickly interchanged. This means that not only the overall length but also the caliber used can be changed.
The safety has three states in which the trigger is secured, the locking lever or the firing pin is locked.
