The Stierenberg with a height of 872 m above sea level. M. is an elevation west of Menziken in the Swiss canton of Aargau .
location
The Stierenberg is the highest peak in the canton of Aargau that lies entirely within the canton. It is not the highest point in the canton, which is located on the Geissfluegrat near the border with the canton of Solothurn . The regions of the Stierenberg further down are partly in the area of the Canton of Lucerne , which is why the Strihe is considered the highest mountain completely in the Aargau. The Stierenberg is rather flat and mostly forested, the south-east slopes are used as cultivated land.
reachability
Well-marked hiking trails lead up the mountain from all sides for pedestrians. The highest point of the Stierenberg is in the forest and is confirmed by a concrete plaque with an inscription as the highest peak in the canton of Aargau.
