Stiftelsen is a Swedish pop rock band from Ljungaverk .

Band history

After Takida's third number one album in a row , Robert Pettersson, the band's lead singer, decided to take a break in 2011. With three childhood friends, the guitarist Mikael Eriksson, the bassist Arne Johansson and the drummer Martin Källström, he had founded a second band called Stiftelsen a year earlier . It is named after the residential area of ​​the same name in their common hometown Ljungaverk . With the band, Pettersson also wanted to create an alternative to the melancholy rock of Takida and to turn to loose, more pop sounds and a broader mix of styles. In addition, he does not write the Stiftelsen texts in English, but in his Swedish mother tongue.

With the first song Vart jag än går , the quartet had a great success in the summer of 2012. It was in first place for six weeks and has since been awarded 10 times platinum . It is one of the most successful songs in Swedish chart history and exceeded the hit Curly Sue by Takida by a week with 64 weeks of the charts . The debut album Ljungaverk only made it to number two after that, but five other songs on the album were still in the charts.

Less than a year after the first release, En annan värld was the first song on the second album. At the beginning of November 2013, Dopet was released and immediately rose to number one on the album charts.
