The “Church Building in Mecklenburg” foundation is a non-profit foundation in the Mecklenburg parish that has been active since 2012 and primarily serves to maintain the 664 Mecklenburg village and town churches .

The foundation primarily supports Protestant parishes in Mecklenburg in raising their own necessary contribution for construction projects. Specific funding is given to projects by local churches and parishes on their own buildings or those in use for which, as a rule, no patronage funds are available. Funds are also made available for items of equipment such as altars, baptisms, pulpits, bells or organs, as well as for scientific work and publications.

The annual distribution includes, on the one hand, the investment income from the unassailable foundation assets amounting to 5 million euros, donations made to the foundation and, in particular, money from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria .
