Mézin ( Occitan : Mesin ) is a municipality with 1554 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in France in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Nérac and the canton of L'Albret (until 2015: canton of Mézin ). The inhabitants are called Mézinais .
geography
Mézin lies on the banks of the Gélise River , into which the Auzoue River flows. Mézin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Andiran in the north, Fréchou in the northeast, Moncrabeau in the east, Lannes in the south and east, Fourcés in the south, Poudenas in the southwest and Réaup-Lisse in the west and northwest.
The former route nationale 656 (today's D656) runs through the municipality .
