Casteljaloux is a French town with 4579 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It is the capital of the canton of Les Forêts de Gascogne and lies on the banks of the Avance River .

history

At the beginning of the Second World War in 1939, numerous residents were evacuated from the Alsatian village of Kunheim to Casteljaloux.
