Moncaut ( Occitan Montcaut ) is a municipality with 614 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in France in the department of Lot-et-Garonne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Nérac and the canton of L'Albret (until 2015 Nérac ). The inhabitants are called Moncautois .

Moncaut is about 13 kilometers west-southwest of Agen . Moncaut is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Colombe-en-Bruilhois in the north and north-east, Laplume in the south and east, Saumont in the south-west and Montagnac-sur-Auvignon in the west and north-west.
