Interkultur Foundation

The Interkultur Foundation is a project of the anstiftung (foundation) . It promotes and coordinates intercultural gardens .

history

It was founded in 2003 by the foundation and aims to contribute to a new understanding of social integration . In doing so, one takes up impulses that emanate from the migrant population for shaping society. The managing director is the sociologist and journalist Christa Müller . As a nationwide service and coordination point for the network of intercultural and urban gardens , which now includes almost 600 projects , the foundation's work focuses on the following four core tasks.

She advises on the establishment and further development of gardens and provides experience from other projects. She also evaluates and researches project practice, coordinates a research network and enriches discourses on migration and interculture . The foundation highlights the potential of doing it yourself and taking initiative, especially in the immigration debate, publishes the series “Scripts on Migration and Sustainability” and publishes the results of its research in specialist media. In addition, it organizes the transfer of knowledge in politics and science, supports projects financially, organizes networking meetings and conferences and moderates the exchange of experience and knowledge between the projects within the framework of training courses and workshops .

Award

The foundation was awarded the Göttingen Peace Prize in 2006.
