The Trautbach is a seven-kilometer-long right tributary of the Sauer in Alsace ( Grand Est region ).

course

The Trautbach rises in three spring branches in the Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park in the Forêt de Katzenthal forest , southeast of Niedersteinbach . The left, longer source branch rises at a height of about 500  m and joins the right source branch after about 300 m. A little further down the stream joins the very small branch that arises from the Trautbronn .

The unified brook first flows south through the Forêt Dominaniale de Nonnenhardt . Not far from the Weibersloch it then aligns its course to the west, only to then turn sharply south at the juniper field . It is now fed from both sides by a series of nameless tributaries. From the Teufelsgrub field it moves southeast through an agricultural zone and finally flows north of Gœrsdorf directly at Kuhbruck at an altitude of about 176  m from the right into the Sauer .
