The Climate Forest Foundation is a legally responsible, non-profit foundation under civil law. It was recognized on September 6, 2010 by the Ministry of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein . The Climate Forest Foundation is based in Aukrug (Schleswig-Holstein). It operates nationally.
Tasks and idea of the Climate Forest Foundation
The foundation creates new forests in Germany by planting purchased areas. The core idea: New forests that, as they grow, will naturally slow down climate change (through the binding of CO 2 in the wood) - with a concept that is geared towards sustainable use in order to favor climate-relevant aspects.
In addition to active new forest formation, the portfolio of tasks includes maintaining and securing existing forest areas, providing information on climate protection (especially with regard to useful measures to reduce emissions) and promoting projects (e.g. schools, children, young people and associations).
organization structure
The foundation is managed by a three-person, honorary board . The second body of the foundation is the foundation council , which consists of up to 16 volunteer members and accompanies and monitors the work of the board.
There is also a foundation board of trustees. The members of the board of trustees are the climate forest ambassadors. They also work on a voluntary basis and bring the climate forest idea to the public, promote climate protection as well as ideal and real support for the foundation's idea. There are currently four climate forest ambassadors: Arved Fuchs , Mojib Latif , Juliane Rumpf and Tim Scherer.
financing
The foundation finances its projects on the one hand from the interest income from the foundation's assets and on the other hand with the help of donations .
