aims

"Promoting health together - beyond basic medical needs" is the foundation's motto. It is intended to give the RWTH Aachen University Clinic the opportunity to use private commitment to close the gap between the requirements and tasks to be mastered and the amount of government funds available and to create greater flexibility.

Funding projects

The projects funded by the foundation result from the three core areas of health care, teaching and research.

In the area of research , the foundation focuses on the topic of "Medicine 4.0". It promotes the clinical application of engineering know-how from the fields of medical technology , computational biomedicine and mechanobiology.

As part of teaching, the foundation supports the RWTH Aachen University Hospital in securing the next generation of doctors in the region and further training to become specialists in all disciplines. For example, it supports the Aachen interdisciplinary training center for medical education (AIXTRA), which offers students the opportunity to learn, train and independently optimize complex medical skills under supervision.

In the area of health care, comprehensive patient care should be made possible and sustainably ensured. Starting with the care of children of parents with cancer in the Brückenschlag project , which was awarded the health prize by the NRW Ministry of Health in 2015, through the Center for Rare Diseases Aachen to special care offers for children with eating and obsessive-compulsive disorders , the foundation supports various projects in this area .
