Style (unit)

The style was a measure of weight in Shirvan (now a historical area of Azerbaijan ), a Russian province that was Persian until 1812.

The measure had at least three different values. Depending on the application, such as Meidan weight, Misan weight or the weight in trade with the ruling house, the measure differed considerably. The misalignment that was related to the style was the gold and silver weight and 4.68013 grams should be taken into account. According to the Meidan weight, which was ordinary

  • 24 style = 1 Batman (Misan) = 875 Miskal

In trade with the ruling house, especially with the goods silk , was

  • 1 style = 45 15/128 Miskal = 49 ½ Solotnik = 33/64 pounds (Russian) / Funti = 211.154 grams
  • 48 style = 1 Batman = 2165 5/8 Miskal = 24 ¾ pounds (Russian) / Funti = 10.13541 kilograms

The style here was the silk weight.

In Nucha, Nukha (Russian: Нуха) - the former name of the city Şəki , the style was different.

  • 1 style = 0.34902 kilograms
  • 48 style = 1 Batman = 40.909 pounds (Russian) / Funti = 16.7527456 kilograms
