from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If, in an election, there are no more candidates than there are seats available, a silent election takes place, depending on the voting rights . This means that the candidates are automatically considered elected.

In Switzerland, there is the possibility of a silent election in many municipalities and cantons , but also in elections to the National Council . There is also the option of silent election for the office of President in Iceland .

The composition of the Liechtenstein Parliament was also determined in a silent election on April 4, 1939.
