Stockholmspolisens IF
Stockholmspolisens IF , (SPIF, also: Polisens IF) is a Swedish sports club from Stockholm . The club offers handball , judo , swimming and rowing .
The club was founded by police officers on August 9, 1912 after the 1912 Summer Olympics . At the beginning it was an association for Stockholm police officers and their families, in the 1940s the association also opened up to other members.
Handball has been practiced in the club since the 1940s. Both the men's and women's teams played in the top Swedish league. The women's team was twelve times Swedish champions (1974–1977, 1979–1985 and 1990); she last played in the 2005/06 season in the Elitserien .
