Stoffel from Freiburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stoffel von Freiburg (also Veltlin ) was a leading member of the Bundschuh movement in fiefdom in 1513.

In addition to Joß Fritz, Stoffel von Freiburg was one of the initiators of the Bundschuh uprising in Lehen. Around 1513 he rode his own horse through the area between the Black Forest and eastern Swabia in order to establish connections. This was particularly successful in the case of the beggar groups. Sub-captains were responsible for each region, and they were promised a penny for each newly recruited member. Stoffel also held samples from Freiburg. After the movement collapsed in October 1513 and was persecuted, Stoffel appears to have fled. There is no further news about him.
