Stok Kangri is the name of the most famous mountain in that part of the Indian Himalayas , which lies in the union territory of Ladakh .
The summit of the officially 6153 m high mountain (other, more likely indication: 6154 m ) is located in the Hemis National Park . From Leh , the summit protrudes prominently from the Stok chain to the south . The Stok Kangri is the most frequently climbed six-thousander in India because of its easy accessibility and an ascent without technical difficulties .
