Storforsen is the name of large rapids on Piteälven in the Norrbotten County in northern Sweden . They are about 38 km northwest of Älvsbyn .

With a drop of 60 meters, an average of 250 m³ of water rolls down into the valley per second, making it the largest rapids in Scandinavia . The total length of the rapids from start to finish is 5 km, with a height difference of 82 m. The water level is highest during the midsummer weeks, with around 870 m³ of water flowing into the valley every second.

The area of ​​the rapids is a nature reserve that is easily accessible by paths and wooden walkways. There is also a forest workers' museum in the nature reserve.
