Stork (weather)

The Stork is an area characterized by forest and arable land in the Grundschöttel district in the Volmarstein district of Wetter (Ruhr) .

The area is located south of the Volmarstein vocational training center and north of federal motorway 1 . It is part of the landscape protection area 2.3.1 Silschede and Schmandbruch in the valid landscape plan of the Ennepe-Ruhr district for the Ennepetal , Gevelsberg and Schwelm area . The Siepen des Berger Bach is one of them . A section of the Schlebusch-Harkorter coal railway ran here.

The designation of the Stork to the "industrial area Am Stork" is controversial on site. The local group Wetter / Herdecke of the Federation for Environment and Nature Conservation Germany and since 2009 the Stork interest group are protesting against the project. At the beginning of 2014, a legal action suit was brought against the development plan . The plan was declared invalid in 2014 by the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Administrative Court in Münster .
