Storlandet [ ˈstuːrlandət ] ( Finnish. Iso-Nauvo ) is an island in the archipelago off the southwest coast of Finland . It is located about 35 km as the crow flies southwest of Turku and administratively belongs to the city of Pargas (Parainen). To the east of Storlandet located Kirchdorf the former municipality of Nagu (Nauvo), one of which Storlandet by 2008. There are also the villages of Mielis, Poutuis, Sexnappa, Verknäs, Sellmo, Vikperä, Väcklax, Grannäs, Vinappa, Sydänperä, Samslax, Strandby, Risis, Krok, Kvivlax and Mattnäs on the island.
With an area of 72 km² Storlandet is the largest island in Väståboland and the third largest in the archipelago after Kimitoön and Otava . The most important neighboring islands are Lillandet in the east, Högsar in the south and Kyrklandet in the west. Lillandet can be reached via a bridge and there are ferry connections to Högsar and Kyrklandet. The name Storlandet means “big country” in Swedish .
