Otava [ ˈɔtɑvɑ ] is an island in the archipelago off the southwest coast of Finland . It is located about six kilometers as the crow flies west of the city of Naantali , to which it belongs administratively. Until 2008, Otava was divided between the municipalities of Merimasku and Rymättylä . The church village of Merimasku is at the northern end, that of Rymättylä in the south of the island. The villages of Hellemaa, Poikko, Kauppila, Maskulainen, Heinänen and Röölä are also located on Otava.

With an area of 105 km² Otava is the fifth largest island in the Finnish Baltic Sea and after Kimitoön the second largest in the archipelago. The most important neighboring islands are Luonnonmaa in the east and Airismaa in the south. In the west there is an open sea area between Otava and Velkua . In the north, the island is only separated from the mainland by a narrow sound. Otava can be reached via two bridges.
