Stormregion (Stormregion Szoftverfejleszto Kft.) Was a Hungarian computer game developer based in Budapest , known among other things for the strategy game series Codename: Panzers .
The company focused on developing 3D real-time strategy games . A specially developed game engine called "Gepard" was used as the technical basis for all games . It was used in the first game, the satirical SWINE (2001), and has been continuously developed since then. Better known but gained Storm Region in 2004, with the theme in the Second World War settled Codename: Panzers .
On June 4, 2007, the company, which at the time had 95 employees and was one of the largest game developers in Hungary, was bought by the German game developer 10tacle Studios . In August of the following year, however, 10tacle Studios had to file for bankruptcy and the Hungarian developer studio was closed. The former Stormregion employees then founded a new company, InnoGlow, which resumed development on the Stormregion projects ( code name: Panzers - Cold War and Mytran Wars ). Both titles finally appeared in 2009.
