Stourport-on-Severn is a town in the district of Wyre Forest the British county of Worcestershire on the River Stour in the vicinity of the confluence with the River Severn . The 2011 census showed that the city had a population of 20,292.

The city is also located on the historic Staffordshire-Worcestershire Canal , which runs from the Severn to the Trent and Mersey Canal and is now only of tourist interest, but has been preserved because it is a protected monument. From 1902 until his death in 1947, the politician Stanley Baldwin lived on the Astley Hall estate in Stourport . Baldwin was from 1908 to 1937 Member of Parliament and three times (1923-1924 and 1924-1929 and 1935-1937) Prime Minister of the United Kingdom .

In March 2006 the city of Stourport was awarded the title Fairtrade Town by the Fairtrade Foundation .
