Dysuria or dysuresia (from ancient Greek δύς dys- , German 'miss-' , 'un-', 'bad-'; 'unpleasant' and οὖρον ouron , German 'urine' ) is difficult or painful emptying of the bladder . It is a key symptom for various diseases associated with bladder emptying disorders. Dysuria often occurs in combination with pollakiuria . Depending on the cause, only a few more droplets can be excreted. If urine drops accidentally leak, it is called incontinence . If the pain is in the foreground and the emptying of the bladder cannot (for this reason) be suppressed willingly, one speaks of stranguria (German: "Urnstrenge", "Urnwinde", "Urnzwang"). If one only means the painfulness alone, one speaks of alguria .

Causes of dysuria may include blisters -, prostate - and urethra nerkrankungen, a bubble-vaginal fistula , rarely, neurological or psychogenic its origin.
