Straw mesh size

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The straw mesh measure was a Swiss piece measure in the canton of Lucerne . It was laid down in the law of November 22, 1836.

The straw wattle measure meant a piece of straw wattle with a length of 24 cubits Swiss measure. The Swiss cubit, two feet long, was calculated to be 265.9776 Parisian lines or 0.6 meters , so that the piece of straw was 14.40 meters long. The law required that a pattern be deposited in the communities with wickerwork. Any piece of straw with deviations resulted in punishment for both manufacturers and buyers.
