The myStromer AG , headquartered in Oberwangen BE is a Swiss manufacturer of electric bikes of the brand Stromer .

history

Thomas Binggeli founded myStomer AG in 2010 after developing a fast e-bike, the Stromer V1 with rear-wheel drive, a year earlier . In 2011 the ST1 came onto the market as a fast pedelec with a battery in the down tube. From 2011 Stromer belonged to the Swiss bicycle manufacturer BMC Switzerland AG , and sales were expanded to Europe and the USA. In 2013 the headquarters was opened in Oberwangen near Bern. The ST2 model presented in 2014 was the first e-bike that could be connected to a smartphone via the web-based OMNI platform . The ST2 was u. a. honored with the Red Dot Design Award and the IF Design Award . In 2017, Stromer became independent again and has not been part of the parent company BMC since then.

The Canadian website electricbikereview rated the ST5 as one of the fastest accelerating and most technologically advanced e-bikes on the market. The Dutch website Bike Europe writes that Stromer is the market leader for speed pedelecs in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium.
