Energy saver badge

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The power saver badge is a seal of approval for electrical devices that hardly use any electricity in standby mode and can be switched off easily and completely.

It has been awarded by the No-Energy campaign in collaboration with Audio Video Foto Bild since 2004 for consumer electronics devices .

Since June 2007 there has been a new, expanded power saver badge with a new design. This was presented to the public at the Environment Week at the President of the Federal Environment Agency together with the Federal Association of Consumers and the magazines Audio Video Foto Bild and Computer Bild .

Manufacturers may use the extended energy-saving sticker to label electrical devices that

  • have a power switch that is easily accessible, clearly visible and clearly labeled;
  • do not consume electricity if they have been switched off with the power switch;
  • draw less than 1 watt of power in standby mode;
  • were able to demonstrate the above-mentioned properties in a test of Computer Bild or Audio Video Foto Bild .

It has the appearance of a stylized socket marked in green with the inscription “Stromsparer! No-energy. With the support of the Federal Environment Agency ”and the logo of one of the two magazines.
