Environment week

The Environment Week is a trade fair for innovative environmental protection technologies and projects, which is organized by the Federal President in cooperation with the German Federal Environment Foundation . It takes place on the grounds of Bellevue Palace in Berlin or on the grounds of Villa Hammerschmidt in Bonn (i.e. on the current or former official residence of the Federal President).

The Environment Week was held in Berlin in 2002, in Bonn in 2004 and in 2007 and again in Berlin in June 2012. Federal President Joachim Gauck opened it with a high-profile speech on the energy transition . Berlin was also the venue in 2016. The Environment Week will also be held in Berlin in 2020.
