Stuart Ringholt

Stuart Ringholt (* 1971 in Perth ) is an Australian performance and video artist .

“Stuart Ringholt's work, which combines expressionless seriousness with slapstick humor and a fascination for the absurd, takes many forms; he creates performances, videos and sculptures, but also leads community workshops. By exploring the power of the small gesture, he sets in motion significant shifts in meaning. "

Well-known works are Embarrassed (2003) , a series of actions in which Ringholt embarrassed himself in public, Funny Fear Workshop (2004), in which he guided participants to rid themselves of their embarrassment and the Anger Workshops (2008) in Form of a group therapy session.

Stuart Ringholt was represented at numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. He was a participant in the 16th Biennale of Sydney , 2008, Singapore Biennale , 2011, dOCUMENTA (13) , 2012.
