The Studia Etymologica Cracoviensia are a specialist journal for etymology .

It was founded in 1996 by the Polish Turkologist Marek Stachowski , who is still the publisher today, and is published by the Jagiellonian University in Krakow . The SEC is the only scientific journal in the world that is exclusively devoted to etymology, i.e. the science of the origin and history of words. Thematically, it is open to articles on all languages ​​and language families, but the articles must be written in English, German or French.
