Stukenborg is a district of the city of Vechta in the district of Vechta in Lower Saxony . It is one of the largest districts of Vechta in terms of area.

geography

The district is located in the northwest of the city on the border with the municipality of Bakum . In the southern part of Stukenborg, another residential area has been developed on Klänenesch since 2008, after the northern part of Stukenborg had been built on since the late 1990s.

traffic

Falkenrotter Straße runs to the south, from the city center to BAB 1 . It can only be reached via two crossings, the part in between (Klänenesch) is separated by a noise barrier. On the other side of Falkenrotter Strasse is the Vechta-Mitte industrial area with the large Famila shopping center. The Vechta-West district begins behind it .

The district can be reached in the east by the Delmenhorst – Hesepe railway line from the east of the city only via two level crossings ( Alonesteiner Strasse and Falkenrotter Strasse ). The southern one (Falkenrott) will be closed in a few years after the completion of the Vechta-West relief road and replaced by a tunnel. This construction project is necessary due to constant traffic jams.

The district is connected by public transport via line 604 of the Vechta city bus and is served every 60 minutes.

Sport and culture

In the Stukenborg district, on Pariser Strasse, which was newly built in 2012, is the Rasta Dome , where SC RASTA Vechta plays its games in the 1st basketball league and is also used as a town hall for cultural events.
