The Stump Rock (from English stump , stump , stump ' ) is a cliff rock in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is close to the coast and 800 m northwest of Martello Tower in the western part of King George Bay on King George Island .
Scientists from the UK Discovery Investigations mapped and named it in 1937.
