Stuttgart Ecological Social (SÖS) is a municipal voter group from Stuttgart . It describes itself as a party-free alliance or personal alliance and not as a party.

program

The foundation and the program of SÖS was initially closely linked to the rejection of Stuttgart 21 . Accordingly, the main guidelines were the strengthening of direct democracy , the fight against lobbyism and for ecological sustainability . In addition, SÖS advocated the reversal of cross-border leasing , the 30-hour week, a statutory minimum wage and the abolition of Hartz IV .

For the 2014 local elections, the electoral alliance developed three principles and eleven positions. The principles of Stuttgart Ecological Social are the preservation of the natural basis of life, lived democracy and a solidary and social society. The eleven standpoints relate specifically to the areas of housing, energy and municipal utilities, transport, schools, childcare, Stuttgart 21, integration and refugees and welcoming culture, city finances, culture and youth culture, acceptance of sexual diversity, security and order.

In a process known as the “democracy experiment”, all residents of Stuttgart were able to take part in the nomination and election for the 2014 local elections.
