The Stuttgart Wine Village is an annual wine festival that takes place in Stuttgart . The wine village traditionally begins on the last Wednesday in August and lasts for twelve days. It has several hundred thousand visitors annually.

procedure

The wine village consists of around 120 vine arbors, which are made of wood and, according to the organizers, are decorated with "Swabian folk tradition". In them, Stuttgart restaurateurs / wine growers serve over 200 Baden-Württemberg wines. Typical Swabian dishes are also offered.

The festival is held in Stuttgart-Mitte on the market square , Schillerplatz and Kirchstraße.

history

The wine village was launched in 1976 by the Pro-Stuttgart Tourist Association.

Stuttgart wine village in other cities

Since 1986 Pro Stuttgart e. V. annually in the summer for around 17 days an offshoot of the Stuttgart wine village in Hamburg . At the time, the festival was brought to life by Hubert Jungeblut, District Mayor of Hamburg-Mitte, and Stuttgart's Lord Mayor Manfred Rommel . For this purpose, some of the arbors were transported to Hamburg and erected there on the Rathausmarkt . In 2015 it took place for the 30th and last time.

In return, a Hamburg fish market takes place every year on Karlsplatz in Stuttgart .

In 1998 and 2001 there was a Stuttgart wine village in Berlin .
