Subenhara
Subenhara is the name of a Dutch semi-hard cheese . It is made from pasteurized cow's milk, has 48% fat in the dry matter, a buttery yellow color and only smells faint. The ripening time is six to eight weeks. The cheese is protected by a non-edible wax crust. The taste is mild. A variant with nettles has a spicier taste. There are other variants with herbs , garlic , mustard , fenugreek and coriander . Goat's milk subenhara is more piquant and white in color.
The energy content is 1550 kJ per 100 grams of cheese.
