Subud

The Subud Brotherhood is an international, mainly from that of Ahmad Khatib Sambas (1803-1875) founded Javanese Islamic mystical movement Tariqa Qadiriyyah wa Naqshbandiyya emerged (TQN) Brotherhood , which in the 1920s / 30s from the Javanese Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo (1901- 1987) was founded. The name is an acronym of the Sanskrit words "Susila Budhi Dharma".

The spiritual exercises of Subud are called latihan or latihan kejiwaan (Indonesian, "spiritual / spiritual exercise"). The movement close to Sufism also has many followers in the West. Seat of Subud Germany is a former forester's house in Wolfsburg . A personality of the movement in Germany was the artist Horus Engels in Wolfsburg, also the jewelry designer Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe , who temporarily lived in the place , belonged to her, as well as the puppeteer Harro Siegel . A series of Subud Chronik brochures appeared in Wolfsburg in the early 1960s.

Speeches by the founder Muhammad Subuh are also translated into German under the title Bapak's speeches (Hamburg: Siegmund).
