Johann Friedrich Schmoll (born September 10, 1739 in Nieder-Saulheim , † August 27, 1794 in Kirchheimbolanden ) was a German organist and composer .

Career

After a job at the court of the Wild and Rhine Count Carl Magnus von Rheingrafenstein in Gaugrehweiler in 1771, Johann Friedrich Schmoll switched to the position of organist at the Schlosskirche in Kirchheimbolanden with her three-manual organ built by Johann Michael Stumm in 1745 .

In Grünstadt, Schmoll worked as an organist at the Leininger Hof from 1773 to 1779, where he also had a three-manual organ made by Johann Michael Stumm from 1738 in the Lutheran Martinskirche .

In July 1777, Schmoll's appointment as organist for the Lutheran parish of Mannheim was thwarted because he returned the vocation adopted in April of that year and demanded a higher salary. In 1779 Schmoll returned as organist to the Kirchheimbolandener Schlosskirche and to the Nassau-Weilburg court , where he worked until his death in 1794.
